Fiber Arts class

It has been a couple weeks since the last post on this blog.  The blame can be placed solely on the shoulders of a young man who has stolen my heart.  My first grandchild was born in mid September.  This new grandmother, heretofore to be called GiGi, has been in Texas helping the little scamp and his parents.  Lots of laundry, lots of diaper changes but most of all lots of love, snuggles and sweet baby time.

In the quiet moments of rocking the little one I have had time to think about this blog,  the upcoming quilt show and the Paths of Faith class I will be leading.

Here is the course description:

Calling all quilters!  What you don’t quilt but you always wished you could?  Here is your moment.  Debra Godwin, counselor, Bible student and excellent quilter will begin a unique Fabric Arts class on October 14.  The class will begin at 7:00 pm and will last until 8:30 or 9:00 in the evening.  You do not need supplies initially, you do not know how to quilt, but you must want to learn to quilt and create a piece to glorify God.  As Debra teaches our hands to quilt she plans to weave into our hearts a love and foundation for God.  There is no fee, no fuss, just conversation, creativity and openness to the presence of God in our lives.

One does not need to be a member of Fairfax United Methodist Church, or any other church for that matter, to participate in the class.  If you are interested just call the church at 703-591-3120.

I am more than a little bit anxious about the class.  Questions race through my mind. Will people sign up?  Will the class meet expectations for a spiritual growth experience, as well as, a  quilt techniques class?  Then a still quiet voice loving reminds me that my job is to prepare and show up; His job is all the rest.  The impact of the class, this blog and the fiber arts show are all in His divine hands.  Christians are called to obey, preach the gospel and leave the conversion of hearts to Him.

How comforting are the words of Jesus found in John 6:44 NIV "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

My prayer for you tonight and every night is that the love of the Lord and Savior of the World envelop you like a warm, soft quilt.

Blessings,

Debra
