Rules. There
are always Rules, Requirements and Responsibilities. Apologies in advance to the people chafe at the word rules. The goal is to keep rules to a minimum
so you can get on with your creative endeavor. Anyone may participate in this show. Artists may work
individually or in groups.
2. Quilts must be comprised of three (3) layers—a fabric top, batting center and a fabric backing. Materials must be fibers. No metals or plastics for this
challenge (see exceptions for embellishments.
5. Quilts must have
a hanging sleeve sewn to the back.

6. Edges of the quilt must be finished. Any type of binding technique is
permitted. Satin stitching
or cover stitching the edges is allowed.
7. Any method of
surface design is allowed. You may
paint, crayon, piece, embroider, wholecloth quilt, and photo transfer is ok if
you took the photo.
8. Quilts must
adhere to the theme—Glorifying Jesus Christ. On the entry form the artist must articulate how the piece
expresses the theme. Any work that
is deemed inappropriate will not hang in the show nor be included in the online
blog.
9. Quilts must have a label containing quilt’s title, artist’s
name, City, State & Country. Labels must be sewn to back corner of the
quilt.
10. Embellishments
are allowed on the quilts; however, embellishments may not have sharp edges
that could injure someone handling the quilt or damage another quilt it might
touch.
11. A complete
application entry form and signed entry release form must accompany each quilt
when turned in. No exceptions!
12. Quilts must be
either dropped off at Fairfax United Methodist Church during open hours (please call ahead to check for hours 703-591-3120) or mailed to
the church at Fairfax United Methodist Church 10300 Stratford Ave, Fairfax VA
22030. Special instructions for drop off will be posted on the blog in early March 2015.

13. Neither Fairfax United Methodist Church nor the project
coordinator will be responsible for any damaged, lost or stolen quilts. No insurance will be provided for your
quilt. If you wish to insurance
your quilt contact your insurance agent.
14. If you mail
your artwork to the church you must include return postage in order to have
your quilt mailed back to you.
